I'm intellectual of getting a heart tattoo on the inside of each wrist, but... I have scars. I want these tattoos as... Deterrents. I'm safe most of you can see what I'm talking about. I don't need "Cutting isn't the answer" responses, I understand that, it's not helpful. Please just tell me if getting tattoos over scars is a good idea.
I'm only 15, yes I be familiar with I need consent, and I do have an artist in mind.
Answer: Any tattooist importance his salt likes a challenge. Scars can be incorporated into kick-ass designs that are necessarily one-of-a-indulgent. I can't think of anyone or have I talked with anyone that is into skin art that would disagree with me on that. However - I have encountered health dept. personnel that biting out to me certain rules of conduct that forbids tattooing on scars, birthmarks, and other (undefined) graze anomalies. I don't really think that the scar-tattoo-ink police would chase anybody down the boulevard so I do what my artistic reverie tells me as far as what's in front of me that I'm creating a piece on.

I Want To Get Tattoos Over Scars?
Question by Missy Ming | Posted in Tattoos
I recently asked a definitely pertaining to the symbolization of solid black armbands. I am planning to get them to cover some scars I have on my loftier arm, and yes, I like how they look, lol. I was wondering how well do they cover scars? Is it harder to tattoo over scars? Will the ink take well? I need all the info you can give me about this. Please and thanks you.
Answer: Some artists frame it their policy not to tattoo over scar tissue at all, because of a few bad experiences. But, truthfully, it depends on the blemish. Old scars, that have gone soft with age, are not much of a problem, as a general rule. Small, thin scars, that many have on their arms from a concerning in their lives where they cut on themselves are usually not a problem either, and are the kind we cover the most often. The real problem is with mightily surgical scars. They don't take ink very well and can be a mistake to attempt to. Burn scars, severe ones, also fall into this classification. The best rule of thumb is to let your artist look at it. Take care.
I have 6 scars on my leg from a surgery, and I'm poorly of looking at them everyday. They run down the front of my leg from the middle of my thigh to half way down my shin. The scars are still thoughtful even though they are 5 years old. How much pain can I expect and is it even a good idea to tattoo over scars?
Answer: Technically, you cannot successfully tattoo over scars... I certain how it feels to hate looking at your surgery scars... But ink won't stay in scar concatenation. :( That and it would be extremely painful to try. You would definately be able to still see the scars after tattooing, and the pain would be degree extreme.
I am so sorry. Perhaps try a tattoo that works around your scars, even with them, and shows what you've lived through? It can be a very powerful obsession. My partner actually had self mutilated alot during her youth, and when she grew older, she made a probability to herself that she would never tattoo over her left arm, where most of the scars were. She got a
I have lyrical extensive scarring on the bottoms and tops of my arms and, while I won't get one for a few years, I really, de facto want a tattoo. The one I want would go over the underside of both my arms, where there are scars. Can I get it there, or not?
Answer: Yup. I got a tatt on my leg for the person purpose of covering up a very nasty scar. I was warned that it might need touching up due to the ink not staying in burn tissue as well, but luckily it never needed it.
Actually, if you have a tattoo picked out that you really destitution, but can't figure out exactly where to get it, going over a scar is a practical answer.
i have a yen for to get tattoos over both of my wrists, but i want to know if it will affect the scars i have there.i did cut and im getting the tattoos to cover up those stupid mistakes, but the at issue is, will it be dificult to tattoo over and will it be safe?
Answer: There are a lot of artists who do burn coverage tattoos. Check out some of the Miami Ink episodes, Ami did a couple of scar coverage tattoos. They may be circumscribed to what they can do, but a good artist should be able to work with any design you want. It may cost a not enough more, but again, usually the more it costs the better tat you will get. Do your research and find a tattoo that will cover the area you are lacking to cover up. Just make sure you check out several artists and see what they can do for you and the type and eminence of their work. You don't want some newbie doing a tat on scar tissue. Good success rate!
