Do Silicone Sheets Work For Keloid And Hypertrophic Scars?

These are raised scars that are red and itchy. I've been doing cortisone shots, but its not responding well. The scar is the same, but the itching and sharpened pains have stopped. I've had this scar for a year now.
I just bough Silicone Scar Sheets (CVS brand) but I have to use it 2 months to see any results. Is it merit it? Has anyone used them before.

Answer: Yes, silicon sheets exertion for hypertrophic scars/ keloid (more effective in hypertrophic scar than keloid). Do you have hypertrophic scar or keloid? Hypertrophic scar develops on a premature scar, grows for only 6 months then stops, and never goes in normal tissue. Keloid can occur without trauma/ surgery/ previous scar, will keep on growing, and can spread to normal surrounding district also. Keloid is more common in coloured races (In India it is not very rare) and common sites are without beating about the bush and breast bone. Usually they respond to Steroid injection . One important call:- what ever you apply just make sure that it is FDA approved.

I got the collagen injections about 6 months ago. I didn't remember there would be a conflict with using the sheets but my mom wants to make sure before we use them. Are silicone sheets okay to use?

This is about silicone sheets for scars. How do you use them? Do you altogether put the sheet on your skin, and does it stick automatically like a p ost, it note for the husk? Or how do you get it to stick? Can you go under water with it on?

Hi, Did anyone get admissible results for using a scar cream and silicone sheet on their keloid at the same time? .I want to rub scar cream on my keloids(on my leg) first before applying the silicone plate but I'm not sure if the silicone sheet could be used with the scar cream.
Which one do you prefer cica care silicone layer or scaraway silicone sheet ? .Can you give some names of the best cheap scar cream please that is a cream not a gel.

Answer: I've been using vitamin e oil on my modern scar as well as bio oil, i try to alternate and the pigment is already starting to reappear! It's only been 5 days since the scab fell off. Where I had stitches, the scar is raised and itchy so i've principled started with the silicone sheets. You can use the cream/oil alternately and not at the same time as the silicone sheets as this would affect the product from working nicely. So I'd apply some cream or oil leave it half an hour or so then clean the scar and apply the silicone stretch.
