One end of the scar is still slightly open so I'm on tenterhooks about putting creams etc on until it's totally healed over.

What can I do to stop the itch - it's driving me up the screen!!!

Why Would A C-section Scar Become Red And Itchy After 7 Years?

I had 2 c-sections, one 11 years ago and one 7 years ago. Only just in the past few days the scar areas (basically one on top of the other) have become itchy and the scar itself is bright pink. Can a scar become infected years after a surgery?

Answer: I had 2 c-sections also...the last one being 8 years ago. The way mine turned out the coat kind of does a little flap over the scar. I have to sort of lift the flap when I am bathing and also raise the flap when drying off. If I don't, it stays damp under that little flap and starts getting itchy...I guestimate because bacteria can grow in moisture. Anyway, I'm not sure what is causing yours to be itchy and red, but my suggestion is to keep it clean and dry.

I had a laparoscopy done 6 years ago and the Doctor got a small-minded excited and my small keyhole scar has turned into a 3cm one, which has now gone keloid (from my skin variety) and 6 years on it still gets itchy and irritated. You just have to give it time, but very normal.
