I'll be getting an anti-tragus exquisite soon, and my only real concern is hypertrophic scarring.
What is it and what is it caused by? Is there anything I can do to prevent it?
Any advice/info will be greatly appreciated.
Answer: Hypertrophic scarring is an overproduction of mar tissue that forms around a piercing site. Some people describe it as looking like a "volcano" of accumulation coming from a piercing. Hypertrophic scarring is most commonly caused by poorly fitted jewelry. If you get it, your first course of energy should be to see your professional piercer and have them change the jewelry. I got my ears pierced about a year ago and my reactionary ear was infected and still has a bump on it, which I assume is hypertrophic scarring. Its pretty small but its like white and dexter next to my earhole. How can i get rid of this?
Also, is it normal that my ear still pusses a bit when I take out the earrings. Its like off white, not green or yellow.

Or a warm cammomile tea bag compress
There are a few other remedies, but they don't seem to exertion as often, and usually involve something bad.. (like dettol?)

I got my lip pierced 2 years ago and that situation is fine, but a month ago I got it pierced again right next to it (spider bites) and it has what I believe is hypertrophic scarring around it. What do I do?
Answer: There are a few things you can try.
According to the Dr. Oz show on TV, petroleum jelly - easily understood vaseline - is as good as any other more expensive treatment for scars. So I would give that a try for at least a few months before tiring anything more expensive. Nothing works quickly. Whatever you try, you will need to use it for a long time to see any effect.
Bid cocoa butter to the scars. Studies have shown that regular application of cocoa butter helps to menial scars more rapidly than some other creams on the market. Also, look for creams that contain as expected healing ingredients, such as shea butter, jojoba oil, castor oil and rose hip oil.

I got my ear cartilage/ helix pierced about two months ago and it has developed hypertrophic scarring on the back of it. I was told tea tree oil should mitigate get rid of it so I bought some yesterday. But how exactly am I supposed to use it? I heard I have to dilute it in water? Or mix it in with salty soaks? Can anyone help me? Please be exact, I'm really stuck.
Answer: IMO, you should be diluting it in incredible, as using it alone will leave a residue behind that will encourage dirt to stick to the area forthcoming the piercing; dilution will help eliminate this.
Tea Tree is good for scarring, but yu will have to be persistent with it; don't conjecture overnight miracles.

I've gotten hypertrophic scarring on my tragus, industrial, and nose but they all went away over conditions. I never had a problem with my monroe though. I want to get my tongue pierced but I'm worried! Help?
