My 9 month old shih tzu puppy had his hernia (he was born with it) repaired about 2 weeks ago. is it universal that the scar looks like a bulge in his skin. its about a marble size. his stitches are all right and doesnt seem to be in pain, except if he bumps it too hard, but im just wondering if its okay to have his scar look like that.
Answer: Impede w/ your vet, of course, but there can be considerable swelling like that after. If you see any discharge, super redness or a contaminated smell from the incision or the swelling keeps getting bigger, take him back to the vet for sure. The bump will go down eventually, be patient. I think having a chat w/ your vet might make you feel improved as it's always best to get your advice from him/her & not the net.

I had an inguinal hernia about 15 years ago (I was 15 at the culture) and only in recent weeks has the scar darkened and the scar is clearly visible. I think it's cause I have recently adopted sitting on the puzzle and stretching forward to complete a project.
Answer: If it has been exposed to the sun that could act upon the color. Or a keloid might be forming. This link might help.

My dog has a prominence where her incision from being spayed is. I'm wondering if it is internal scar tissue or a hernia? How can you tell the difference? Its been two weeks after her surgery. It isn't red, though.
Also what can hernias do to the dog if it goes untreated?
Answer: does the join feel hard or squishy? if its kinda hard then its scar tissue, if its squishy and looks like a froth then its a hernia which is generally harmless unless it gets too big.

I am a rising 9th grader and in the Treat someone to of 5th grade I had surgery for a hernia in my pubic area. Now every time I get menstrual cramps I get a abrupt pain that originates in that area. Sometimes I get a sharp pain from that area at random times. Should I be distraught that something bad is happening every time I get cramps and at random other times when it hurts?
Answer: I'm point of view you may just be having ovarian pain. You may have random pain throughout the month say when you are ovulating. I acquainted with to complain to my grandma that sometimes I got pain a couple weeks before my period. They were always sharp pains that lasted minutes to up to 20 minutes or so. Sometimes my leg on that side would feel in one's bones achy or numb too. I think it's probably normal girl stuff.

I had an abdominal hernia repaired last April. It was equitable above my belly button and was only a few millimeters wide. But there was some tissue which had got trapped. I had permenant stitches and no Rete.
I am a Dance teacher and If I do a strenuos class It is really painful the following day and takes about a week to affirm down. The scar is still quite tender to touch. Has anyone else experienced pain following surgery ?
Answer: Unfortunately this is easy on the eyes common with any kind of abdominal surgery. The reality is that some people are prone to ceaseless pain after any abdominal surgery, especially if they have a thin fascia. It is also possible that there may be another hernia, they can be recurrent. That is the case why mesh is used, especially if you have a thin fascia (abdominal wall inner lining). You should see you surgeon again to have it checked out.
