Is it practical to get rid of scars resulting from hot water or fire burn? If so what kind of treatment is required
Answer: I had a unqualifiedly bad burn in 2003, and the scar is still a purplish color. Burn scars are the worst and take a long time to mend. Silvadean (sp?) is really good, but it is super expensive. Another thing for bad scars is moral to keep it out of the sun and elements. During the summer, be sure to put lots of sun screen on it. This is for a bad burn...I don't know how yours is.

Burn Scar Treatment? Mederma Or Cica Care?

I received 2 burn scars on my legs resulting from an effluent pipe while riding a moped in Thailand. Since I was not home they were not immediately treated. They are not raised and do not aggrieve, however there is serious discoloration. What can I do? I heard mederma or cica care are good?
Suggestions? Before and After pictures?
Answer: Mederma is adequate, but a bit expensive. I used it right after I got a large scar covering my shin and now you can barely make known there is a scar there. However, i have a smaller scar on my face that i tried it on, but it has been there for 10 years, and mederma did not help that much.

Ok people have been sayin use Vitamin E capisules but I have ointment that has vitamin E in it and jojoba and shea butter would that help?

I have 13% burns on my arm and back, half of which were grafted. The burns are almost 6 months adult. I use scar massage, mederma, compression garments, and now cica care sheets. Does anyone have any other recommendations? How about for the benefactor sites? I was treated at Brooke Army Medical Center so I had the opportunity for the crush care and garments but they dont have much information on scar creams and such.
Answer: sounds like your doing very much everything you can possible. the treatments your receiving and undertaking are all that i'm familiar with.

Answer: I've been using Mederma on a surgery scar and it is getting recovered. I've been using it probably a month now or close to it. The surgery was back in August so it's not an "old" scar.
My surgeon also recommended vitamin E oil for the scar and I have that also, but I impute to some good reviews for the Mederma so decided to use it and see if it significantly helped.
We have been using the Co2 Affirm by Cynosure to wipe scars. This client's scars are from scalding water, the scars are about 30 years old ...
