my girlfriend had a breast reduction over 4 years ago now and has recently started to groan of breast pain in the scar area. these areas also feel softer to the touch than usual. have any other women who have had this surgery proficient similar symptoms and what caused them? i am confident it is not cancer after reading pages of symptoms and what to look for, but am not able to find a case of anybody suffering the same problem. any help? serious answers only!
Answer: i had a breast reduction in oct 08. though i be sure it is still recent and the pain for the most part is gone, every now and then i still get pings of pain. i asked a friend who had the same surgery the year before and she said it's still like that. every now and then she gets a trouble. if you are concerned have your girlfriend call her doctor. s/he will be happy to answer any questions.

Answer: A twist once told me that the scar under the breast does fade a lot, but even after a full year it can still be seen when you are on top and the lights are on. She didn't seem too anxious about it. I wouldn't be either. The rewards of back pain relief totally outweigh the drawback of ward scarring.
There are lots of before and after plastic surgery pictures on the internet. Try http://www.smartplasticsurgery.com for a few.
Recollect that some procedures are riskier than others. Weigh that against scarring.

Answer: There is no such possession as scar REMOVAL surgery; but there is scar REVISION surgery. Any time a cut is made on the skin that penetrates to the mid-dermis flush, you'll end up with a scar. Some people happen to heal better than others. So, if your wife happens to have had "bad chance" with her healing process, it's possible that a revised scar, with tension lines current in another direction, might lead to a better outcome. Have her see a good plastic surgeon to thrash out this.

Answer: I am speaking from savoir vivre, ok? I had a breast reduction during my Christmas break of my sophomore year of college. I have a high pain play, but I can honestly say that it wasn't painful at all. Your breast size and the elasticity of your skin plays a lot into the amount of scarring. Also how you take mind a look after of yourself after the surgery will matter as well. How the doctor performs the surgery matters too. My doctor basically made a T form (horizontal line at bottom of breast and then a vertical line from the center of the horizontal line unsurpassed up to the areola). I am 25 now so I was about 19ish when I had the surgery. My breast didn't bother me and I was athletic in consequential

i know they scars will always be there and it doesn't matter to me
however i would like to minimize the scars as much as i can and i would like to separate how long after my surgery will i be able to start applying vitamin E or cocoa butter or scar reducers

Answer: once the wounds patch up completely you can start applying these things... everyone is different, but my fiance principled had hip surgery and has a 15 in. incision that took around a month after surgery to heal enough to put maderma on. we waited until it was barrel closed (including the staple holes, or perhaps stitches in your case) and there was no more discharge or scabs.
