How Do You Massage An Achilles Tendon Post Surgery To Break Up Scar Tissue?

I had surgery one month ago on my formerly larboard achilles tendon to have it "cleaned up" from tendonosis. My doctor recently recommended I establish massaging it twice daily at home. But how exactly is best to break up scar tissue and encourage my healing?
use a trifling bit of lotion or cream...but not too much because then it will just be slippery. you want it to be able to have friction so that the activity goes deeper, not just superficial on your skin. You should go up and down the length of the tendon to be ration realign the collagen fibers along with the tendon. You should also do it perpendicular to that, called cross erosion. This is used to break up the collagen that is aligned the wrong way and making adhesions.... When collagen is layed down it nothing but lays down randomly, it gets put in alignment with things like massage and on the go movement. So things like stretching are still just as important, and heel raises. But total sure your dr or therapist says those activities are okay... you don't want to fracture the tendon if it's at all weak....

I had surgery to servicing a tendon a few weeks ago and I have a ton of scar tissue built up around it. Just was curious if the deep tissue massage is mostly for preventing the scar tissue from ever forming or if it could in truth help in breaking it up after it has.
Anytime that you offend a tendon or make a surgical cut there is always going to be the formation of scar tissue, there's no getting around it, but there are massage treatments & techniques that can advise break-up the scar tissue that will form.
As soon as the your doctor tells you that massage is no longer contraindicated for the parade-ground you received surgery, then look into starting up a treatment program with a Massage Psychoanalyst to break-up that scar tissue & increase the range of motion in the area of the tendon.
