I in use accustomed to to have really bad acne that covered basically my whole face, mostly my cheeks. I still get zits that pop up now and then, but its totally tractable. Now, the problem I'm having is that I have a bunch of scarring left over on my cheeks from the acne I used to have. I have been using the ProActiv 3-footfall system and i also have been using ProActiv's skin lightening lotion, though i havent noticed much of an recovery. I dont have any deep scarring or anything, but its about moderate. I hate having these marks on my face and ive been distressing to get rid of them for a while. I'm 19 years old and I'm planning to go through microdermabrasion. Will I see results with 5 sessions? or will it take 10 sessions though? I have emollient acne and acne scarring, oil skin and red spots due to acne.

I in use accustomed to to have severe acne on my face and that left scarring on my face. And with the scarring came large pores also. Is there any way to baby both less visible without going to the doctor/spa?
It's been about 8 years since the acne has disappeared. I only get pimples every now and then but it's not bad at all.

Answer: I had cystic acne for many years and it fist me with severe scarring as well, but here's what my dermotologist recommended: he said said use ordinary Scotch spool: just lay a strip of tape over the scarred area, then put it up. Repeat this over the same area several times, then move on to the next scarred compass and repeat. He said this does esactly the same thing as dermabrasion, basically removing skin cells and forcing the skin to repair itself, reducing the appearance of scars for a dollar versus hundreds of dollars. (I replica the process until I feel a slight sting and do this a couple times a month. You have to let your overlay heal.)
