Normally I have placid acne but all of a sudden breaking out like crazy. Should i get prescription medication from the dermatologist or should I stick to my dry-clean and clear advantage acne control kit? I just turned 15.

My prescription acne medication have a lot of rubbing fire-water in it, and this makes my skin very dry. I don't know if its supposed to dry out my zits or whatever, but my skin will be in worse up if I allow the moisture to be taken out of it. Is it okay to use a moisturizer once a day, before or after I use the topical gel?

My son's dermatologist is dispiriting a prescription body wash for my son's severe acne, and said if this doesn't work, he will try accutane. I was reading up on the information he gave us about it and some of the side effects are pretty bad. I'd like to hear from someone who's used it, did it help the acne? What side effects did you have?
