Acne & Dermatologist... ??

i've had acne since i was 15 (now im 17) and 2 months ago i unambiguous to go to a dermatologist, by the way i dont have health insurance, so i paid $60 in cash... well he said that everything about chocolate and saponaceous food are all myths and it doesnt cause acne... well he prescribed me tetracycline 500mg for 4 months 1 capsule a day. and a cream called adult acnomel... its been 2 months since i started intriguing them and i havent had any results yet.... and my next appointment is in october....
Last week me and my gf went to a spa and i asked how much it was to acquire an appointment if i dont have insurance, and the lady said it was a free consultation.. so i earmark an appointment

Answer: tetracycline wont do anything for you.

GET ACCUTANE! It's the only fixation that helped me!

Acne...Dermatologist?

I am discountenanced and afraid to ask my mother to take me to the Dermatlogists office. I have mild acne on my chest and some on my back and face but not too bad. the one downside is that I am a swimmer so everyone always sees my group and has to look at my acne. What should I say to her when I ask her??? How did you ask your parents to take you to the Derm. and what did they say??

Answer: First...How can you be humbled? You are a swimmer and should be proud of that. Having competed in many open water swims, I be sure the conditioning and commitment it takes.

Just think of acne as another challenge-another race.

You have to start the stock, before you can finish it.

Is Seeing A Dermatologist For Acne Any Different Than Getting A Prescription For Acne By A Doctor?

I have never had BAD acne, but ive alway had stinting bumps on my forehead and chin, kind of like a cross between white and awful heads. My complection has never been smooth, and Ive tried alot of different products. Im now compelling 500mg ammoxicillin (if thats how its spelled) but now its not working. My face has been breaking out alot more recently and ive had enough of it!! its now unstationary to my cheekbones and temples. Ive been wanting to see a dermatologist. Is that a good idea?

Answer: I would say seeing a dermatologist may be a information path to go down. Although, be cautious because sometimes they can over medicate like most conventional doctors usually do. I've recently heard of a treatment called Levulan Photodynamic Remedy. It is an acne treatment that uses Levulan (5-aminolevulinic acid), a photosensitizing representative, which is then activated with a blue light. It is said to be a permanent solution for those with moderate to violent cystic acne. Perhaps bring this up during your next doctor's visit. Good Luck!! :)

When Going To The Dermatologist For Acne, Should I Not Wear Make-up?

I have to go to the dermatologist because i have definitely bad acne. I never leave the house without make-up because it's just too embarrassing not to wear it. So would it be ok if i wore makeup to see the dermatologist or should i not abrade it?

Answer: it's greater if you don't wear makeup

Is It Normal To Feel Embarrassed When Going To See A Dermatologist About Acne?

idk, im right-minded really selfconsious about my skin...i dont like people looking at it...oh well...i valid wanted to know if other people felt the same way.

also. what are some of the best acne prescription medications?
AND ho can a dermatologist carry weight which medication is right for YOUR skin?

Answer: Yes I would bleed for embarrassed too, its only natural. But you have to understand Dermatologists see all kinds of different problems routine. and I'm sure some are wayyyy worse than acne. I'm sure they understand, after all that's why they are in that field, to help people with their problems. Decent feel comfortable in your skin.
